DANE - OWNER & MANAGER
Dane is the owner and store manager of Fisho’s Tackle World. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone more fishing obsessed than Dane! Since he was able to hold a combo in his hand, he’s been out on the water. That obsession eventually led Dane to being a tournament angler for 7 years and winning the BASS Angler of the year in 2015.
His favourite part of his role is being able to talk about fishing and play with tackle 24/7. An added bonus is that sharing his personal experiences and knowledge with Fisho's loyal customers has led to many close friendships being formed over the years.
Dane frequently heads up to the Swains Reef System to explore the hundreds of reefs that make it up. When there, he targets a wide variety of species like trout, red throat emperor, GTs, spanish mackerel & dog tooth tuna on soft plastics, jigs, vibes & his personal favourite technique: top water.
Want to glean some invaluable advice from Dane? You can ask him almost anything! He’s particularly skilled in landing the mighty barramundi and high-flying billfish so bring your questions and he’d be happy to help!
BANE (BARNEY) RADOSEVIC - OWNER
Bane is the legendary owner of Fisho's Tackle World and has been fishing for an incredible 48 years! He's got a wealth of knowledge to share about fishing in and around Hervey Bay.
His favourite fish to target include Hervey Bay's "bread and butter" whiting and flathead to reef species such as coral trout and sweetlip. His current passion is targeting mangrove jack on lures in the creeks. The thrill of planning and targeting a particular species and then enjoying the spoils when everything goes to plan keeps him coming back for more every time.
A personal highlight for him as store owner is watching the store and customer base grow each year through the dedication of the experienced and passionate staff and their many loyal and satisfied customers.
LOGAN - OFFSHORE ENTHUSIAST
Logan is one of the in-store experts at Fisho's Tackle World. He spent his earlier fishing years chasing sportfish like GTs, Spanish Macks and Kingfish on top-water. These days during calmer weather windows Logan heads offshore in search of quality table fish! When the wind demands it, you're sure to find him targeting Threadfin Salmon and Barra in one of the many rivers and creek systems that Hervey Bay has to offer.
Logan was hooked on fishing from his first cast and loves working in an ever-evolving industry where he can observe and learn new skills every day. His favourite part of his role is equipping Fisho’s loyal customers with the correct gear to catch the fish of a lifetime.
JACKSON - FLATHEAD FANATIC
Jackson is one of the skilled in-store experts at Fisho’s with 10+ years of fishing experience. He’s passionate about helping the fishing community with new ideas using the techniques he’s learnt from countless hours spent on the water.
Having recently moved up from the Gold Coast, he believes Hervey Bay’s fishery is one of the best places he’s adventured around. From Barra to Tuna, it has it all. Jackson’s main targets are flathead, top water long tail tuna, and coral trout. Flathead is by far his all-time favourite fish to target, which comes in abundance where he hails from.
This year he’s setting his sights on chasing Marlin off the flats along Fraser Island in his smaller tinny, a Quintrex 420 Renegade. He also can't go past longtail tuna without having a cast.
DYLAN - THE BARRAMUNDI AND FINGERMARK GO-TO
Dylan Brown is one of the in-store gurus at Fisho's Tackle World. With 15 years of experience fishing in the creek systems of Hervey Bay and flats off Fraser Island, Dylan is the go-to for all your Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, and Fingermark needs. He also specialises in targeting Golden Trevally, Queenfish, and Tuna.
When Dylan Is not fishing you'll find him out hunting, camping, and 4WDing. After living and fishing in the Townsville, Hinchinbrook, Port Douglas and Hervey Bay regions, Dylan has spent many years exclusively targeting Fingermark and Barra. Now, his next target is catching the elusive Permit Fish on fly - and what a better place to undertake this challenge than Hervey Bay, as we know they frequent our waters
JASON - IMPOUNDMENT BARRA, PRAWNING AND REEL REPAIR SPECIALIST
Jason has been at Fisho's for 15 years and has been fishing for a solid 24 years. He not only specialises in impoundment barra, estuary fishing, prawning and reef fishing... he's also a reel repair specialist!
Jason's passion is chasing big barra (not just metre barra but the true monsters!). He almost snagged a 1.5m beast on Lake Monduran but we'll let him tell you that story.
At work, he enjoys teaching fellow fishos the finer points of the sport, so if you're looking for advice on Barra, jacks, threadfin salmon, grunter, squid, or reef fish, Jason is your go-to!
MURRAY - FLY FISHING ENTHUSIAST
Murray is another one of Fisho's fly fishing experts with 15 years of fly fishing experience under his belt! After spending many years from the early seventies chasing all species (estuary, blue water and reef), he then discovered saltwater fly fishing. In the Winter you'll find him sight fishing the flats and in Summer you'll catch him chasing barra and jacks in the local rivers. His top-rated fishing spots are the Cook Islands, Kirrrabati, Weipa and Hinchinbrook Island.
